Nitta Gelatin India Ltd. (NGIL), is promoted by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd., in technical collaboration with the leading Japanese gelatin manufacturing company M/s. Nitta Gelatin Inc., Osaka, Japan. NGIL holds approximately 82% of Total shares of BPL. NGIL is a leading global manufacturer of Gelatin, Collagen Peptide, Ossein, Di Calcium Phosphate and Chitosan. Incorporated as Kerala Chemicals and Proteins Ltd. In 1975, the name was changed to Nitta Gelatin India Limited in 2008 reflecting their global standards and values.
